Renewable Solar Energy Project

Committed to the promotion of renewable energy, sustainability and environmental care.

We welcome the new renewable energy self-consumption project by installing photovoltaic panels on the roof of our headquarters. The installation, commissioned on 17 November, consists of 245 modules and has a power of 100 kW.

Likewise, to publicize these actions throughout the organization and consolidate our commitment, a monitor has been set up in a public and visible area to follow in detail the production of solar renewable energy in real time, where you can check the data of own generation and self-consumption, PV input energy or the equivalent to CO2 reduction or carbon savings in Kgs.

It is estimated that, since the implementation of the solar plant, 564 tonnes of CO2 will be avoided, equivalent to the annual emissions of 251 vehicles or the planting of 161 trees thanks to the energy that is self-consumed and no longer consumed from the electricity grid. This CO2 emission data, which is no longer emitted due to the photovoltaic installation, has been calculated using the generation data obtained with the PV*SOL premium 2021 program. This program was used to calculate the annual production of the photovoltaic system described above and the following was calculated from this data:

Annual production = 134,335 kWh

CO2 emissions of the Spanish electricity system (2021) = 140 gr CO2 /kWh

For every kWh produced by the photovoltaic installation, 140 grams of CO2 are no longer emitted, according to data from the CNMC. Considering the linear power guarantee period of the installed photovoltaic modules of 30 years, it is possible to estimate the CO2 emissions that will no longer be emitted into the atmosphere during those 30 years:

CO2 emissions avoided = 134,335 kWh x 30 years x 140 gr CO2 /kWh = 564 tonnes CO2.

This initiative is financed by the European Union-Next GenerationEU, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
